Being from Havana (and having named his cigar company after Havana City), HVC founder Reinier Lorenzo of course needed to commemorate the quincentennial milestone. HVC’s 500 Years Anniversary cigar is a Nicaraguan puro composed of a Corojo ’99 wrapper from Jalapa, a binder from Jalapa, and fillers from both Jalapa and Estelí — all the tobacco sourced from Aganorsa. Siempre Rosado is an exclusive limited production blend. This cigar is the product of nearly two years of blending and the utilization of never used before 1st-year tobaccos from Oliva Tobacco Company. All this while keeping a keen eye on the complexities originally offered in Siempre Sun Grown. Bolder and brawnier, yet still refined in the retrohale.
Earth and Stone on the palate. Deep Black and White peppers with a hint of Citrus come through on the retrohale.

The La Rosa 520 cigar honors HVC founder Reinier Lorenzo’s childhood home — named for the street he grew up on in Havana, Cuba. The normal La Rosa 520 blend is a Nicaraguan puro comprising Aganorsa tobaccos, but this Maduro version trades the original’s Jalapa Corojo ’99 wrapper for a Mexican San Andrés Maduro leaf. Tasting notes are lingering pepper, tangy earth, dried fruit, leather, and espresso.
